WILL THE SHOPPING SEASON PEAK UP FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL AND HOLIDAYS IN 2023?
WILL THE SHOPPING SEASON PEAK UP FOR BACK-TO-SCHOOL AND HOLIDAYS IN 2023?
Very soon, the “back-to-school” shopping time will start as a regular practice worldwide. It has become a peak season for shopping in many years; however, the shopping time seems not to follow the expected trends after the covid pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Last year, the orders came to flat over the year. Leaders of many shipping and forwarding companies have given doubt about the peak season trade orders coming back in Q3 2023. For the back-to-school and holiday shopping time, the orders need to be in place by 6 months, which means the orders should start rising from mid-year to Aug or Oct. However, the signal of this has yet to be seen. We could not expect the charges to peak high but at least better than last year when people are trying to save instead of spending. James Gagne, CEO of Seko Logistics company, has expressed, “Each industry will see a different restocking event. Some companies are burning through inventory; others are not. It all depends on the commodities. Consumers are spending on experiences.”
We, Voltrans Logistics, in the same way, are keeping watchful eyes on the movement with the hope that the world inflation is coming down and orders from Vietnam factories, especially from garment, footwear, or other consumer goods, to peak up soon. 📈🙏
