VIETNAM STAYS STRONG IN HEADWINDS
VIETNAM STAYS STRONG IN HEADWINDS
Despite the fact Vietnam is facing a lot of difficulties in the coming time, we are still lucky to be a bright spot in the region. This was also the comment from IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva (L) to Vietnam’s President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the sideline of the 2022 APEC summit held in Thailand’s Bangkok on November 19, 2022.
When the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have not been finished, then the war with Russia-Ukraine led to a series of issues for the world economic downturn. For Vietnam, due to the slowing external demand, rising inflation, and recent domestic financial condition, the export growth slowed. In November, there are some factories that had to close down leaving workers going home early as no trade orders. Vietnamese Dong lost 9.1% value to USD in 10 months.
However, as IMF and World Bank commented, Vietnam still had good achievements with about 7.2% GDP growth. They hoped that Vietnam would continue to contribute to the global agenda of transforming growth models and ensuring supply chains, and they will go along with Vietnam with good support.
We, Voltrans Logistics, also hope that not only the Vietnam government, but all parties in the economy including logistics providers like us keep strong hands to cope with the changing global economy. We work closely with each other to get the strength of solidarity.
